Saar Manche is based in The Hague, The Netherlands where she works across oil paint, earth pigments, plant dyes and textiles and creates paintings and textile works in often a muted, but colourful pallet.

After graduating Museology at the Amsterdam University of the Arts and History at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, Saar combined her job as a history teacher with illustrating and painting.

The oilpaintings are mostly figurative works that are built in layers of colour that give depth to the subject in often silenced scenes.

In her textile works our cultural and natural heritage plays an important role, reflected in the colours, structures, compositions, and in materials used, often sourced from nature.
